Sketches
I began this project by taking the Enneagram test, which identified me as a Type 2--The Helper. This type is associated with traits such as empathy, sincerity, and selflessness. I explore how these characteristics might be visually represented, I developed a series of potential logo sketches.. At the time, I was taking a bee entomology class where I discovered the hard-working and social nature of Apis Mellifera, the honeybee. This insight inspired the finalized mascot logo, pictured below.
Final Design
Style Guide
I chose Dr. Sugiyama Pro as the header because I wanted a font that resembled the warmth and flow of honey. Dr. Sugiyama Pro achieves this with the swish at the end of each word and the fluctuating weight of each line. Minion Variable Concept is paired with this to balance out the line variation with simpler shapes while keeping the tone of Dr. Sugiyama through its serifs.
The colors were chosen from the golden hues of honey and paired with pinks to add a touch of femininity to the design.
